WSK EURO SERIES R2 2013

ZUERA - WSK NEWS Sunday, March 24, 2013 (www.wskarting.it)
TIENE COMES BACK TO VICTORY LANE, BEATING HIS RIVALS IN KF

Armand Convers and Dorian Boccolacci tried to challenge the Italian Parilla driver Felice Tiene, who seemed particularly competitive throughout the whole weekend. At the start of the final, the two French drivers got the lead of the race, with Convers first and Boccolacci second. However, their leadership lasted only one lap: in fact, the Italian driver passed them both almost immediately and kept the first position until the end of the race, even though he was aware that the race was no piece of cake given the great skill of the drivers behind him. In fact, the Polish Karol Basz joined the battle and was second for a short time. Boccolacci and Convers, in this new order, closed the gap with the leader but, at the end of the race, it was Kevin Lavelli who snatched the third place from Basz and Convers. So, Lavelli finished third behind Tiene, the winner, and Boccolacci, whose weekend was definitely as good as Tiene's.

 IAME PRESS RELEASE 004 / 2013

The second round of the WSK Euro Series is raced on the Circuito Internacional de Zuera (Spain). IAME wins in KF and conquers a great podium in KZ1

KF

Super performance from Tiene (CRG/Parilla). In the time qualifying he has problems (24th), but then he well recovers in the heats: twice 1st then 3rd and 6th, also with the BEST LAP.

In Pre Final he starts from the 2nd place and finishes 3rd , looking for the inside lane at the start of the Final, where he races at his best, takes the lead after two laps and preserves it to the end of till the finish line. He is now 3rd in the overall standing and in full battle for the title. Ilott’s (Zanardi/Parilla) first part of the week end is very positive, he scores the best lap of the whole meeting, he wins the Superpole and three heats (he is in fact 1st after the heats), but then he suffers some contacts in the Pre Final (16th) and in the Final (20th), though he climbed till the 6th place after the first half of the race.

Dabski (Praga/Parilla) is 8th after the heats, then he suffers a contact in the Pre Final, but recovers well in the final and finishes in 11th place. Well done for Hannes (Zanardi/ Parilla) 14th, Viganò (Top Kart/parilla), 15th and Palou (CRG/ Parilla): 10th in the Pre Final but then KO in the Final.

KZ1

Lennox-Lamb (CRG/Parilla) conquers a great 3rd place in Final 2 after demonstrating to be one of the fastest all week end long: he has in fact the best lap in both the Finals and in two heats. In Final 1 he finishes 6th with a good recovery from somehow unlucky heats, and in Final 2 he is 3rd, after being twice 2nd in the heats. He is now 5th in the overall standing.

Well done also for Hajek (Praga/Parilla): 5th overall after the heats on Saturday and then 8th in Final 1. On Sunday he is then 11th in Final 2, just a step far from the Top Ten.

KF Junior

Just close to what happened in the first Round, Van Leeuwen (Zanardi/Parilla) is one of the best among the IAME drivers: 9th after the heats, 5th in Pre Final A and then 7th in the Final, where he scores important points for the overall classification where he is now 10th.

Highlights for Pull (Zanardi/Parilla), 7th in the Superpole and scores the best lap in the first heat. Then he suffers some contacts but is still able to qualify for the Final, where unfortunately he gets stocked in the middle of the group (24th). Florescu and Elpitya, both Zanardi/Parilla, do better in the Final, finishing respectively 17th and 22nd.

KZ2

Highlights for Cunati (Top Kart/Parilla),10th on Saturday following the heats, he well recovers in Final 2 till the 7th place. On Sunday he is constant and after starting from the 6th place, he finishes Final 2 again in 7th place. He is now 11th in the overall ranking.
